In 1975, Kostas Melissaris realized, "No one man or woman could cut everyone's hair in the world". Kostas believed that the talent of cutting hair needed to be passed onto the generations. He wanted to instruct any stylist how to become a true artist. To create this dream, The Hairstyling Institute of Charlotte was born.

After 30 years of teaching, Kostas presents the greatest adventure In hair. Welcome to The Kemon Hair Academy of Beauty and Barbering. The Kemon Hair Academy is the first in the United States of America. The Kemon Group of Italy, with over 50 years of hair knowledge, combined forces with the Melissaris' to bring each student the best hair knowledge possible. Kemon, with its wide range of innovative and modern products, has always had a power to awaken and stimulate our senses with in the school and salon environments.

Now under the watchful eye of Kostas' son, Nicholas Melissaris, The Kemon Hair Academy continues to breed excellence for the beauty industry.
