The Kemon Hair Academy of Beauty and Barbering was first created to give applicant/students a hair school that teaches both Cosmetology and Barbering all under one roof. It was for this reason that Nicholas Melissaris took a quote from his father and continued the family legacy in hair. “ No One Man or Woman can cut Everyone’s Hair in the World”. Costas Melissaris knew this when he first opened the Hairstyling Institute of Charlotte in 1975, and now over 35 years later The Kemon Hair Academy of Beauty and Barbering was born to do just that.

For the duration of your Cosmetology Core Curriculum we will emphasize the fashion and looks that clients are looking for in a hair stylist, while giving you the basics to always be grounded and prepared in your field. Our course includes, barbering techniques, retail sales, goal setting, cosmetology techniques, hair colouring formulation and techniques, chemical hair texturizing and client interaction just to name a few.

Running your own hair salon, being a part of a hair salon or studio, working behind the scenes at fashion shows, creating hair looks for magazine photographic shoots, and working in an international fashion arena are all career paths frequently discussed and taken by some of our graduates. All of our Pivot Point and Kemon courses require hard work, commitment and practice… “All with a touch of fun”.
